Adobe plugs more gaping holes in PDF Reader

Adobe today released an out-of-band security update to patch a pair of gaping holes that expose hundreds of millions of computer users to remote code execution attacks.

The vulnerabilities are rated “critical” and affect Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat on all platforms — Windows, Mac and Linux.

When you are prompted to update Flash, Reader, or Java, make sure you do. Also, make sure your Windows updates are turned on (or you tend to them regularly). And make sure that your anti-virus program is up to date. If your subscription has run out, it's useless. Go to http://free.grisoft.com and download the free version of AVG. It's easier to prevent these infections by staying current than it is to remove them.
