I've never understood why a) we needed to shift time (as if people didn't understand that the day ebbs and flows as far as sunlight) and b) why one time couldn't be used for the entire globe (UTC?). Seriously, if they said a soccer match was going to start at 1600, why can't 1600 be the same worldwide?
